The ever-popular Carnival on Collins is an annual street party, celebrating our exceptional part of the world and our sublime tropical lifestyle.

Held on Father’s Day at the Cairns Botanic Gardens / Tanks Arts Centre precinct on Collins Avenue, (Edge Hill), Carnival on Collins is a favourite with locals and visitors alike and rounds out the Cairns Festival – Cairns’ own 10 day arts and cultural festival.

With over 250 market stalls offering art and craft, produce, plants, food and refreshments, this is the biggest and best market day on the Cairns calendar and attracts between 25,000 - 30,000 punters. Specialty stalls including interactive displays, multicultural and sustainable living stalls, plus an ever-evolving array of new, permanent and one-off events, are all available from 9am – 3pm, for one day only.

On top of the extensive range of market stalls, Carnival on Collins presents an inspiring line up of live musicians and dancers, fun and fruity roving performers and busking artists, plus art exhibitions, activities for kids and their adults, free workshops and displays – we’re sure everyone will adore this exceptional event housed in one of the most stunning botanic garden settings on earth.
