HERITAGE:
CADCAI's Heritage Group manages the preservation of the nationally significant Lit Sung Goong (temple) and other moveable heritage, such as the Chinatown collection from the former Rusty’s Markets site and other items donated by community members.
Activities of the group include: collection management, cataloguing, preventative conservation, research, exhibitions and community engagement projects. The heritage group works on Thursdays from 9 am - 12.30 pm and Saturday from 2 pm - 4 pm. Visitors are welcome. (by appointment only)
COMMUNITY ARTS AND CULTURAL PROGRAMS
CADCAI's performing arts groups - Lion, Dragon and Molihua Dancers practise regularly during the school term and perform together at community festivals and other events through the year.
Activities on offer include:
- Traditional Chinese dance for children from aged 4 and above
- Lion Dancing and Percussion (Drumming) - children and youth
- Dragon Dance - youth and adults
- Chinese New Year Festival
- Weekly Cantonese and Mandarin Programs on Community Radio (4CCR)
- Chinese language classes
- Community celebrations and social events
